Mr. Henry Grant, III, 68, had his transition on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Candler Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services for Mr. Henry Grant, III, will be held at 10:00 A.M. at First Bryan Baptist Church, Reverend Aaron James, Pastor.
Public Viewing: Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
Visitation: Friday in the Adams Chapel from 7:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M.
Mr. Grant will lie in serenity at the church 8:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
Interment: Beaufort National Cemetery, 12:00 P.M. Monday, March 7, 2016 with Military Honors.
OBITUARY:
Savannah- Henry Grant III, was born on September 26, 1947 to Henry Grant II and Addie B. Holmes Grant in Savannah, Ga., the elder of four children. His love of his school, music and sports kept him actively engaged in his high school marching band and baseball team. He was a very proud 1965 graduate of Sophronia Tompkins High School where he treasured the memories of excellent and compassionate teachers, exceptional school spirit and lasting friendships. To further enhance his career and educational opportunities he entered the United States Air Force upon his graduation. He received his training at Lakeland Air Force in Texas and began his tour of duty both in Viet Nam and Thailand. His passion for cooking was expressed in his service as a Chef in the military. He received tremendous joy in cooking for both officers and airmen. He was honorably discharged in 1973 with a rank of Sergeant. Additionally, he received vocational training at Savannah Technical College in the area of Instrumentation Technology. He utilized his skills in the workforce at both Gulfstream Aerospace and the ABC Waste Management Company. As a father, brother and family member he expressed much love, kindness and generosity. His legacy of love will be embraced and cherished by his family: Two Daughters: Lashaon Lance ( Atlanta, GA), Nailah C. Grant (Charlotte, NC), Grandson: Timothy Rawls (Atlanta, GA.), Great-Grand: Londyn Rawls (Atlanta, GA.), Sister: Gail Grant Brown (Tony) Savannah, GA. Uncle Clarence Holmes (Atlanta, GA), Aunt: Helen Holmes Frazier (Savannah, GA), and a Host of Nieces, Nephews, Family Members and Friends.
