Gilberto Mojica-Ortiz (Papo), 75 years old, a resident of Pooler, Georgia passed away on May 15, 2024, after losing his battle with Cancer.
Papo was born on March 8, 1949, to Gilberto Mojica Nevarez and Maria Luisa Ortiz, both deceased, in Santurce, Puerto Rico.
After high school, he worked alongside his father in construction and then joined the United States Army in May 1974 after the birth of his firstborn. He served until 1986 when he was medically discharged honorably.
He married his lovely wife Martha I. Mojica and had two children. Dr. Salimary Mojica Ravelo (Sally) and Gilberto Mojica-Ravelo(Papito).
After the military, he became a truck driver and spent time giving back through the American Legion and the USO, along with various other church activities.
He is survived by his wife Martha I. Mojica, his children, Dr. Salimary Mojica Ravelo, and Gilberto Mojica-Ravelo, his grandchildren, Destiny I. Mojica-Taylor, Yazmine D. Mcintee-Mojica, Gilberto Mojica-Ravelo Jr and Harold Taylor. His sisters, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters of the Armed Forces, American Legion, the USO, his church family, and friends.
