Adams announces the funeral services for Mr. Edward Gadson will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 3, 2017 in The Adams Chapel.
Viewing: 10 A.M.-6 P.M., Friday at the funeral home.
Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery.
OBITUARY:
Edward James “Eggy” Gadson, son of the late Georgia Adams and Paul Hamilton was born on November 16, 1921 in Savannah, Ga. He attended the public schools of Chatham County. He served in the U.S. Army for many years.
He was united in holy matrimony to the late Annie Mae Waiters in the early year of 1949. The union was blessed with four children. He became the father to her four existing children.
He worked for the Railroad Express Company in Savannah, GA. He also worked for the Vanguard Truck Center. Because of his pleasant personality, he was loved by many. He quietly departed this life Wednesday, May 24,2017 at Ocean Side Nursing Home in Tybee Island, Ga. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Gadson-Saxon, son, Theodore Campbell and brother-in-law, Clarence Mears Sr.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: son, Eugene Waiters-Scott of Savannah, Ga; daughter, Margaret (Bo) Edison, Delores (Roy) Higgins both of Hartford, Connecticut; Barbara (William) Lipscomb, Rosalyn (Ellis) Kellem both of Savannah, GA; Edna Mae (John) Owens of Atlanta, Ga; daughter-in-law, Pearl Campbell of Savannah, GA..grand-children, ..great grand-children and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Annie Mears and Ethel (Willie) Curgil both of Hartford,Conneticut; brother-in-law, Lawrence (Veda) Waiters of Oakland, California; nephews, Clarence (Beverly) Mears Jr. of Montgomery, Alabama, Alfred Mears, Raymond Curgil; nieces, Adriena Marshall, all from Hartford, Connecticut; and a host of cousins and friends.
