Mr. Edward Bruce Campbell, 92, had his transition on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral servcie for Mr. Edward B. Campbell will be held 11:00AM, Monday, April 21, 2014 at St. Benedict The Moor Catholic Church located 556 E. Gordon St. Savannah, GA 31401 and East Broad St.
Public Viewing : Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 12:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the fuenral home
Instate: at 10:00AM, Monday, April 21, 2014.
Interment: Catholic Cemetery located 1720 Wheaton St, Savannah, GA 31404 with Military Honors.

Edward Bruce Campbell was born in Savannah, GA on February 26, 1922 to the late Edward B. Campbell, Sr. and Margaret Scott Campbell.
Being reared in a Christian home, he was baptized in 1924 at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church. As a lifelong member of St. Benedict, he served faithfully as president and treasurer of the Holy Name Society, member and president of the Parish Council, past president of the Ways and Means Committee, member of the Finance Committee, and as a Eucharist Minister.
He was educated at St. Benedict Catholic School, and the public schools of Chatham County, graduating from Beach-Cuyler High School in 1941. While a student at Beach, he excelled and lettered in varisty basketball and football. His education continued at Savannah State College.
After twenty seven years of service, he retired from the Central of Georgia Railroad. Following retirement he served as Executive Director of the Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club for 17 years and as a Youth Development Worker 10 years for the State of Georgia.
Edward held membership in the Falcons Club, the Beach High Hall of Fame and the Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club Alumni Association.
He served his country as a member of the United States 3rd Army during World War II and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff/Sgt.
He was married to Alma Simmons Campbell for 17 years. This union was blessed with two daughters; Alma, who died in infancy, and Eugenia Campbell Benemon who also preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Dorothy Bell Paige Campbell. This union blessed him with a step-daughter, Paula Paige Council.
On Sunday, April 13, 2014 a life dedicated to service to family, his church and community came to a quiet close. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted family; daughters Paula P. Council (William)and Courtenay C. Harris (Michael), granddaughter and caregiver Christina B. Butler; grandchildren Natasha C. Sloan (Johnathan), Keith Benemon, Kevin, Benemon and Arlene Council; great grands, Brian Butler, Kiante Williams, Aryanna Collins and Dominique Sloan; devoted cousins Zeline Foster(Fred) and Frances Calvert(Ken) and a host of other relatives and friends.
