Darryl Keith Rose was born on June 16, 1962 in Fayetteville, NC. He was the 2nd oldest of Ola Lee (Brown) Rose and Luther James Rose four children. Darryl, raised a Christian, kept his faith and continued his walk throughout his life. As a child of a soldier (Army brat), he was able to experience many different cultures living abroad. Darryl finished his formal education at Windsor Forest High School in Savannah, GA, where he was a great athlete and musician. He was an outstanding drummer in the marching band, and a standout basketball and football player. He excelled at baseball, earning a scholarship to Savannah State University where he would continue his education majoring in criminal justice. Oh yeah, the drumming continued as part of the Marching Tiger's band.
Darryl was blessed with three loving children with their mother, Laquita (Boyd). He lived between North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Over the years, Darryl endeavored into many trades to include Savannah Paper Mill, IMC Phosphate Mine, medical technician, and caretaker. He also had entrepreneurial ventures such as mobile auto detailing, landscaping and horticulture. Darryl enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking for family. and an avid sports enthusiast. He had the most gentle, sweet disposition, and to all who knew him, he was one of the funniest people you would ever know. Darryl's kind, affectionate nature coupled with his hilarious sense of humor made him one of the most special people to love.
Darryl passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on April 22, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His joyous spirit will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters: Fatima Roberts of Winter Haven, FL; Ashley Roberts of Winter Haven, FL; son: Darryl Keith Roberts of Fayetteville; GA; three brothers: Timothy W. Rose of Fayetteville, NC, Linwood "Skip" Rose of Savannah, GA; and Dennis "Jay Jay (Stephanie)" Rose of Lakeland, FL, twelve grandchildren: Le'Aundre Copeland; De'Quan Culpepper; Ontario Hill; Elijah Hill; Destiny Roberts; Tobias Hunter; Tavion Hunter; Takari Hunter; TayLen Hunter; Talilah Hunter; Legacy Jennings; Hakeem Jennings; one uncle, Robert (Frog) Rose; four nieces, two nephews, host of cousins and friends, as well as significant loved ones, Frankie "Mama" Owens, Essie Grayson, and Demetrious Melvin.
Visitation will be held, Saturday, May 4, 2024 in the Adams Chapel
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Sanctuary Church of Savannah. 8912 Whitfield Avenue.
Burial in Woodville Cemetery. 125 Spring St.
