Mr. Allen Middleton, 79, had his transition on Monday, May 26, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family under the excellent and professional care of Hospice Savannah, Inc.
Funeral services for Mr. Allen Middleton, Jr. will be held 11:00AM, Monday, June 2, 2014 at First Friendship Missionary Baptist Church located 506 Hamilton Ct. Pastor Keith Bruen.
Interment: Beaufort National Cemetery with Military Honors.
Public viewing will be held 12:00PM-6:00PM, Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the funeral home.
OBITUARY:
Allen Middleton Jr. was born to the late Allen Middleton Sr. and Lucille Middleton in Savannah, GA on March 4, 1935. He was educated in the schools of Chatham County. At the age of 21, he joined and served in the United States Army. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at First Friendship Baptist Church where he served faithfully for many years as a deacon and church musician.
In 1959 Allen married Thelma and to this union the four beautiful children were born. Allen was employed with the Coca Cola Bottling Company for over ten years. He later worked for Borden Milk Company for over thirty years and retired. He departed this life on Monday, May 26, 2014 to go home to join his beloved father, mother, sister and brother.
Allen leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Thelma Middleton and five daughters: Linda Johnson (Dexter) of Flossmoor, Ill., Beverly Street (Harold), Sylvia A. Varner (Eric) and Sharon Moore; one son, Allen Middleton III.; two sisters; Albertha Deloach (Curtis) and Mary Middleton of Burton S.C.; one brother: James Middleton (Shirley) of New York City; nine grand-children; three great-grand children; a special niece, Debra Roberson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
