OBITUARY:
Missionary Pleasant Croslen entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 13th, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 28th, 1934 in Allendale, SC to the late Junious and Rebecca Berry. From an early age she was no stranger to hard work. In her young life, she worked at Morrison Cafeteria. She was united in holy matrimony in 1956 to Daniel Croslen Jr. To this union six children were loving raised. Missionary Croslen established her career with the Savannah Board of Education as a cook and a baker over the years- cooking school lunches for many children in the area including her grandchildren.
Although she loved cooking, she devoted the majority of her life to caring for her immediate family, children, and loved ones. She was a gentle sweet woman who often shared her life with others through inspiring stories, periods of hardships and triumphs, as well as the importance of family unity and love.
She was a member of Tree of Life Holiness Church for most of her life where she served as a devoted Missionary. She also served as Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Convention Secretary for many, many years.
She leaves to cherish sweet memories, her husband of 60 years, SSgt Daniel Croslen Jr., USAF, Retired. Her children: Kenneth Croslen, Fire Capt. Jeffery Croslen (Marsha), Colonel Rodney Croslen USAF, Ret. (Nina), Sonia Swindell (Gregory), Lt Colonel Michael Croslen USAF, Ret.(Margaret), and Kimberly Pitts (Nelson).
The 3rd of ten children she leaves behind surviving siblings, Selena Garvin, Savannah Ga, Rosalie Ellis, Martha Berry, and Francis Smith all of New York and her brother, Henry Berry of Savannah GA. Eleven grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
