Mrs. Mary Louise Rivers-Robinson, 62 made her transition Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
She was a dedicated Educator in the Chatham County School System at both DeRenne and Shuman Middle Schools for twenty-five years. She gave her confession of faith in Christ at an early age at First Pilgrim Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. D.D. Henderson. She was an active member of Sophronia Tompkins High School of 1966 and the Chatham Association of Educators. Her loving parents, Mr. Joseph Melvin Powell, Sr. and Mrs. Bertha Lee Powell and a sister Mrs. Geraldine Horton, preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her lasting legacy; husband, Earl Robinson of Savannah; children: Gia Rivers Thompson and Corey Rivers, Sr. of Savannah; Siblings: Joseph M. Powell, Jr.(Rose), Rossell Powell(Joyce) and Sandra Powell Williams(Lee), all of Savannah; special nephews, Kevin Horton and Reginald Horton, both of Savannah; In-laws; a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral service: 1:00pm. Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Connor's Temple Baptist Church, 509 West Gwinnett Street, Savannah, GA 31415, Rev. Bennie Mitchell, Pastor. Visitation: Monday, August 4, 2008 from 6:00pm-7:00pm at the Adams Funeral Services, Inc Chapel, 510 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, GA 31405. Interment: Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
