Mary Morel Jarrell

Mrs. Mary Morel Jarrell, 80, had her transition Friday, January 2, 2009 at her residence, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

A native of Savannah, Georgia, she attended the schools of Chatham County and graduated from Armstrong Jr. College. She retired from the City of Savannah after twenty-five years of service. She then went on to her second career and love as an Addictions Counselor. She worked in South Carolina and returned to Savannah to work at Memorial in Clark Center and Recovery Place.

She is survived by five children: Mark Jarrell of Pooler, Georgia, Chris Jarrell (Karen) of Port Wentworth, Georgia, Claire Jarrell (O'Neil Kenney) of Savannah, Maryann J. Stapleton of Rincon, Georgia and Lorri Jarrell of Savannah, Georgia; one sister, Joan Morel Mathews of Savannah; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; an extended ""AA"" family.

Visitation: 10:00am, Saturday, January 10, 2009 with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Port Wentworth, Georgia with Father J. Kavannaugh, Officiating.

Reception to follow in Church Social Hall. Burial will be private.
