Mrs. Margaret McClendon, had her transition Sunday, November 16, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving family under the excellent of professional care of Hospice Savannah, Inc.
Mrs. Margaret McClendon was born November 25, 1920 in McIntosh County to the late Frank Temple, Sr. and Annie Ward Temple. She attended the puble schools of McIntosh County. ""Big Momma"" as she was affectionately called, was an avid seamstress, gardner and she loved her dogs. She will always be remembered for engaging her family and friends in debatable conversation and telling jokes.
On Sunday, November 16, 2008, GOD in His Infinite Wisdom, summoned her into eternal rest.
She leaves to cherish her memories: three children: A.C. McClendon, Jr., Margie McClendon, Marvin McClendon, all of Savannah, GA, Jennette Baxter of Philadelphia, PA; four sisters: Janie Johnson of Savannah, GA, Sadie Benham of Farrell, PA, Elma (John) Mungin of Savannah, GA and Albertha Shaw of Fort Myers, FL; god daughter, Rebecca Bush of Savannah, GA; a special nieces, Rozlind Harrison of Farrell, PA; a devoted friend, Ruth Johnson, whom she called ""her sister"", of Savannah, GA; a host of grands; great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service: 10:00am Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Adams Funeral Services, Inc Chapel, 510 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, GA. Public viewing: Wednesday, November 19, 2008 from 12:00 noon - 8:00pm at the funeral home. Mrs. McClendon will lie in state at the funeral home from 9:00am until the hour of service. Interment: Wallace Cemetery, Darien, GA McIntosh County.
