Louise ""Hattie"" Green Minis, was born February 22. 1920 to the late Ezekiel Green, Sr. and Violet Hamilton Green on Hilton Head, South Carolina. ""Hattie"", as she was affectionately called, was educated in the local public schools of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. She was the fifth of eight children, six preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death was two husbands: Abraham ""Sonny"" Grant and Thomas Minis, four grands and one great-great-granddaughter.
As a young girl, Hattie confessed the Lord as her personal Savior, was baptized and became a member of Crossroads Church on Hilton Head (presently known as First African Baptist Church). Keeping up with her spiritual upbring, when she moved to Savannah, Georgia, she sought to continue her relationship with Christ and joined Garven Temple Baptist Church, where for many years, she faithfully served as Church Secretary and Sunday School Teacher.
Hattie's dedication to good work ethics was reflected throughout her life. She began working at an early age. She had various occupations including: Oyster Shucker in the local Oyster Factory, Domestic Engineer Caretaker for the Hudson family, and various position at several hotels in Savannah, Georgia.
She loved caring for her family, but her loving kindness touched many lives. Always ready to lend a helping hand to all of those in need. In the neighborhood in Savannah, where she lived for more than thirty-five years, she was revered as the ""Queen of Crawford Square"". Her mere presence demanded respect.
The family circle has been broken and her presence shall be sadly missed. Hattie leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her loving memories: two daughters: Florence ""Stella"" Green and Sadie Mae G. White, both of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; on brother, James Green, Sr. and his wife Dorothy Green of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; six grands; sixteen great-grands, including one that she reared, Robert Green; sixteen great-great-grands; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including Amari""Man""
