Leola George Copeland Lundy

August 25, 1910 — March 3, 2009

On August 25, 1910, Leola was the second of five children born in Baxley, Georgia to Lee and Maey Mann Feorge, whe preceded her in death. She was educated in the public schools of Appling County, Georgia and received her early Christian education at Rachel Missionary Baptist Church. Nicknamed ""Mudge"" by her parents and known to most throughout her senior years as ""Mother"", she reflected the Fruits of the Spirit even as a child.

Leola married Creswell Copeland in 1930. To this union were born two beautiful daughters, Eloise and Betty Jean. Upon Creswell's passing in 1967, she devoted her life to the rest of her family and church service. She was a faithful member of Mount Oliver Baptist Church for many years in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and then joined the First Baptist Church Piney Grove, where she met Walter Lundy, whom she wed in 1977. He also preceded her in death in 1990. She was a dedicated Deaconess and Mother of First Baptist Church Piney Grove and served on several auxiliaries.
