Kenneth Ricardo Maxwell, Sr., 54, was born on March 6, 1954 to the late Vernell Walker and Leroy Maxwell, Sr. He was born and reared in the Sandfly Community. He was a 1972 graduate of A.E. Beach High School.
He was baptized at an early age and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he served on the Usher Board. He received a certificate from the Poughkeepsie Culinary School in Poughkeepsie, New York. He was a Chef for Amtrak Railroad for thirty-five years.
He married the former Dena Brown on March 11, 1976 and from this union a daughter and a son were born.
To his family and friends, he was known as ""Kenny"", ""Snake"", ""Rattlesnake"",""Nep"", and the comedian of the crowd. ""Kenny"" always knew how to put a smile on everyones face at any given moment. He was a devoted husband, and incredible father, and he loved fishing and working in his yard.
""Kenny"" is survived by a loving wife, Dena B. Maxwell, three daughters: Juana Henderson (Gerald), Quonica Slay (Michael), and Kennetra Tutt (Christopher); a son Kenneth Maxwell, Jr. (Cynthia); ten grandchildren; three brothers: Roy Reese, Leroy Maxwell, Jr. (Johnnie) and Anthony Maxwell (Renee); two sisters: Belinda Reddick (William), and Kimberly Williams (James Earl); an adoring Mother-in-law, Claretha Bivins, sister-in-law, Geraldine Williams, and brother-in-law, Marion Jameison; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, co-workers, neighbors, and friends.
Funeral service: 1:00pm, Monday, July 28, 2008 at Speedwell United Methodist Church, 7259 Skidaway Road, Rev. Brenda Iglehart Eddings, Pastor. In state 10:00am until hour of service. Interment: Eugenia Cemetery-corner of Sallie Mood Drive and Montgomery Crossroad.
