Helen B. Johnson Miller

March 12, 1923 — December 13, 2008

Mrs. Helen B. Johnson Miller, 85, had her transition Saturday, December 13, 2008 under the excellent and professional care at Hospice Savannah, Inc, 1352 Eisenhower Drive in Savannah, GA., surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

A native of Hilton Head, South Carolina, she was a member of Young Zion Baptist Church until her illness.

She retired from Memorial Medical Center(now Memorial Health University Medical Center) in her early years to become a full time Home Engineer to her husband and family. She also assisted with the raising of her grandchildren; she was a loving care-giver to many family members and friends.

Mrs. Miller attended Young Zion Baptist Church and served with the Senior Choir, Pastor's Aide Board, Trustee Board, was the Church's Treasurer. and she worked diligently and faithfully on various committees in the church. Her illness caused her to live with one of her daughters, Prophetess Annie Ruth Chisholm, and she fellowship with Jesus Church Deliverance Tabernacle until she was unable to attend.

He husband, Harold (LeRoy) Miller, preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory: four loving daughters: Mrs. Louise M. Cohen of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Prophetess Annie Ruth Chisholm, Apostle Dr. Verdell B. LaCount, Mrs. JoAnne M. (Henry) Primus, all of Savannah, Georgia, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Bessie (Arthur) Orage of Hilton Head, South Carolina; four sisters: Mrs. Martha Baker of Savannah, Georgia, Mrs. Phoebe (Henry) Driessen, Mrs. Mary Bryant, all of Hilton Head, South Carolina and Mrs. Romena Wiley of New York, NY; two brothers: Mr. Samuel (Rose) Wiley of Hilton Head, South Carolina and Mr. James (Rose) Wiley of Decatur, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Ivenia Wiley of Yemassee, South Carolina; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a host of neices, nephews, a special cousin, Mrs. Genova Ford of Hilton Head, South Carolina; other cousins, family members and friends.

All visitors will be received at the Sanctuary of Jesus Christ Deliverance Tabernacle, 2816 Bee Road, Savannah, Georgia and the home of Mrs. Louise M. Cohen, 3 Farmers Club Road, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Public viewing: Friday, December 19, 2008 at Adams Funeral Services, Inc., 510 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, Georgia 31405 from 9:00am-8:00pm. Funeral service: 1:00pm, Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Radiant Life Christian Fellowship, 5916 Skidaway Road, Savannah, Georgia 31406.

Interment: Tailburn Cemetery, Hilton Head, South Carolina.
