Gladys Patrick Smalls

October 8, 1932 — September 30, 2008

Gladys P. Smalls, 75, had her transition Sunday, September 30, 2008 at her residence surrounded by her loving and devoted family and friends.

A native of Screven County, she was the youngest of sixteen children born to the late Mulford Patrick and Irene Smith Patrick. She attended Mather Boarding School for Girls in Beaufort, SC. At an early age, she moved the Chatham County, where she met and married her late husband, Tommy Smalls. To this union, their only child, Sharon Smalls(who unfortunately preceded her in death) was born. After the birth of their daughter, the family moved to Brooklyn, NY, where Gladys worked for NYU Mail Services for twenty-eight years. After retiring, she moved back to Savannah, GA, where she continued to love and raise her grands and great-grands until GOD saw fit to call her home.

She leaves to cherish her memories, thress grands: Michael McCray (Tosheba), Michelle McCray (Donald), all of Savannah, GA and Shaw-Nee Johnson of NY; nine great-grands: Jarell L. Smith, Terell M. McCray, Donald L. Faitele, Michael ""DJ"" McCray, Jayden M. McCray, Seth N. McCray, Cameron Bing, Perry Bing and Gary Bing; brother-in-law, Ewin Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services: 3:00pm, Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Adams Funeral Services, Inc Chapel, 510 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, GA 31405, Rev. Jordan Richardson of White Oak Baptist Church, Officiating. Public viewing: Friday, October 3, 2008 at Adams Funeral Services, Inc. from 9:00am-8:00pm. Interment: Woodville Cemetery, Savannah, GA.
