Deacon George ""Bubba"" Moultrie, 69 had his transition on Jan. 22, 2010 at Candler Hospital. The Beaufort County, S.C. native lived in Savannah most of his life. Upon moving to Savannah he met and married Edith Smith. From this union three children were born, two daughters and one son, Timothy Maurice Moultrie. Timothy proceeded him in death and his brother Larry D. Kearse.
Deacon Moultrie was a committed and devoted member of the Second Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. He served untiringly in many areas of the church. He was recently appointed Chairman Emeritus of the Deacon Ministry and honored with a special program.
He is survived by two daughters, Delores Michelle Jenkins and Yoki Youlanda Moultrie; Five Sisters, Jean Elizabeth Roberts and Gloria Bacon of Savannah; Etha Mae Rue, Susie Major and Victoria Major all of Beaufort, S.C.; Nine Brothers; John Major, Jr., Benjamin Major, Robert Major, Ezekiel Major, and Headen Major all of Beaufort, S.C.; Irvin L. Kearse, Leon Emmett Kearse and Douglas B. Kearse all of Savannah; Five Grandchildren, Brandy, Dontay, Brittani, Treyvon and Malik; One Great Grandchild, Jaoni; Special Cousins, Rosa Lee Fireall, Eleanor Pennington and Joseph Taylor; a special friend Cora Brownee; a host of other family members which include nieces, nephews, cousins and other special friends.
Funeral services for Deacon George Moultrie will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Second Ebenezer Baptist Church , Rev. Ricardo Manuel, Pastor/ Officiating
Visitation Tuesday Jan. 26, 2010 in the Adams Chapel 6:00 until 7:00 P.M.
Instate Saturday 8:00 a.m. at the Church.
Interment : Beaufort National Cemetery
