Mrs. Geneva Allison ""Mae"" Hester, 60, had her transition Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Candler General Hospital, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
The Savannah, Georgia native, attended Sol C. Johnson High School of Chatham County. ""Mae"", as she was affectionately called, attended Macedonia Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board and she also attended Second St. John Baptist Church, where she sang in the Choir.
Survivors: a loving husband, Tommie L. Hester of Savannah; daughter, Crystal L. Hester of Savannah, Georgia; three sisters: Pauline Jackson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Barbara A. (Charles) Polite of Savannah, Georgia and Shirley L. Walker of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; brother, Albert (Karen) Allison of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; sister-in-law, Florence Allison of Savannah, Georgia; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; two aunts; one uncle; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service: 12:00 noon, Monday, March 16, 2009 at Second Arnold Baptist Church, 1427 East 37th Street, Savannah, Geeorgia 31404, Rev. Richard L. Hall, Pastor/ Rev, Harold Baker, Eulogist. Mrs. Hester will lie in state and viewing 10:00am, Monday, until the hour of service at the church.
Interment: A private burial will be held at a later date.
