Evangelist Molcie Ida Grant-Walthour - SAVANNAH - Adams announces the passing of Evangelist Molcie Ida Grant-Walthour, 91 entered eternal rest on March 31, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family .Order Flowers and Sign the Guestbook: www.AdamsFuneralServicesInc.Com. She was born in McIntosh County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Elder Jonas and Sister Queenie Estella Grant. She was educated in the public school system of McIntosh County. She was a Nurse’s Assistant who worked for Charity Hospital, Chatham Nursing Home and St Joseph’s Hospital for numerous years. She met and married the love of her life, Richard Walthour, Jr. in 1950 and they were married on May 7, 1953. Three (3) children were born to this union and their fourth (4th) child was adopted in 1972.
She accepted Christ in her life in the year of 1950 in the Junior Church of Christ Holiness Unto the Lord, Inc. Between 1950 and 1969, she had the privilege of serving under the administrations of four (4) bishops (the late Bishop Ezalee Axon, the late Bishop Arthur West, the late Bishop Major Solomon Bennett and the late Bishop Benjamin Fields Colty In 1962 she was called to the ministry and was licensed as an evangelist in the Church of Christ Holiness Unto the Lord of the South Carolina District (CCHL). In 1969, the True Born Church of Christ Deliverance Center, Inc. was founded/established by her and her husband, Apostle Dr. Richard Walthour, Jr. She was a member of True Born Church of Christ Deliverance Center – Savannah and served as the General Mother of the True Born Church of Christ Deliverance Center, Inc. until her passing. She also served as the Pastor of True Born Church of Christ Deliverance Center – Tarboro, S. C., 1987 - 1995.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Evangelist Barbara Walthour-Harden, Stepmother, Mother Leola Grant, eight (8) siblings and (3) three step siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 68 years, Apostle Dr. Richard Walthour, Jr.; three (3) sons, Dr. Richard Lee Walthour, St. Augustine, Fla., Stanley Michael Walthour, Pooler, Ga. and Clarence Chadar Walthour, Bay City,Texas; one (1) son in law, Pastor Melvin Wayne Harden, Sr., Boynton Beach, Fla., 1 daughter in law, Cheryl A. Barnes, Pooler, Ga., Six (6) grandchildren, Valencia Latrice (Gerard) McKently, Lake Worth, Fla.; Wayne (Tashi) Harden, Jr., Ft. Lauderdale, Fla;. Stanley M. Walthour, II of Savannah, Ga. and Melissa D. Walthour and Jahqwale Wallace of Atlanta, Ga.; and Jawuan Barnes of Augusta, Ga.; three (3) great grandchildren; stepbrother, Freddie Myers of Jacksonville, Fla.; Brothers in Law, Ulysses Grant of Miami Florida, James (Felicia) Rawls of Savannah, Ga. and Eddie D. Singleton of Reidsville, Ga.; Sisters in Law, Betty Walthour-Williams and Jannie D. Jones of Midway, Ga., Sandra (William) Frazier of Savannah, Ga., and Charlotte A. Jones of Jamaica, N.Y; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, spiritual children, friends and the True Born Church of Christ Deliverance Center, Inc. family.
