OBITUARY

Evangelist Carolyn G. Chatman, a native of Perth Amboy, NJ was the daughter of Alton and Inez Nealy, born on Friday, July 9, 1954. She was educated in Middlesex County NJ School System.  Carolyn met her husband, Phillip in 1974, and was united in holy matrimony and became the parents of 2 children. The couple moved to Savannah, GA and resided there for over 12 years. While in New Jersey, Carolyn furthered her education by attending the Rainbow Beauty Academy where she received her cosmetology license and became an entrepreneur and opened two hair salons “Creative Beauty and Simply You”.

Carolyn was a committed member of Anchored In Christ Ministries, under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Marcellus Lanfair, where she faithfully served as an Praise and Worship Leader and an Evangelist.

Carolyn was preceded in eternal rest by her father Alton R. Nealy (August 30, 2018) and her sister, Kathy E. Nealy (June, 24, 2016).

Evangelist Carolyn G. Chatman went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 12:37pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at St. Joseph’s/Chandler Hospital, Savannah, GA.

She leaves to cherish her memories: devoted husband, Phillip Chatman, Savannah, GA; daughters, Alana (Derrick) Chatman-Williams Savannah, GA, and Tissany Chatman, Belle Mead, NJ; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Alton (Darlene) Nealy, Jr., Keasbey, NJ; sisters, Rosemary (Bishop Calvin) Singleton, Christine Nealy and Tammy (Zandy) Nealy, all of Savannah, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, 2 aunts, 1 uncle and caring relatives and friends.
