Evangelist Barbara Harden

Adams announces the transition of Evangelist Barbara A. Walthour-Harden, 64 who entered eternal rest on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 3:20 PM surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Savannah-Chatham County, GA. She attended the public schools of Chatham County, graduating from Sophronia M. Tompkins High School in June, 1974. She retired as a Payroll Technician with the Broward County School System in February, 2017. She accepted Christ in her life in the year of 1972 at the Lighthouse Tabernacle Deliverance Center in Savannah, Georgia. She was a member of the True Born Church of Christ Deliverance Center until December 1974 when she married Melvin Wayne Harden, Sr. and moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where her husband lived. To this union three (3) children were born. In 2009 she was called to the ministry and was licensed in 2015 as an evangelist in the Church of Christ Holiness Unto the Lord of the Florida District (CCHL). She completed studies and graduated with a degree in Divinity from International Seminary, Orlando, Florida in 2014. She was a member of and served on the missionary team of Greater Faith CCHL in Fort Lauderdale from December 1974 to January 2019.

In January 2019 she and her husband Elder Melvin Wayne Harden, Sr., Co-Founded and dedicated a new ministry, Rightway Ministries Deliverance Center, Inc. in Fort Pierce Florida, where she served as first lady. She was preceded in death by one (1) child, Tyrone and 1 grandchild, Gerard Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Elder Melvin Wayne Harden, Sr., her children, Valencia Latrice (Gerard) McKently, Lake Worth, Florida and Wayne Melvin (Tashi) Harden, Jr. Her Loving parents, Apostle Richard and Evangelist Molcie Ida Walthour of Savannah, Georgia; Three Brothers, Richard L. Walthour of St Augustine, Florida, Stanley M. Walthour, Savannah, Georgia and Clarence C. Walthour (LaTasha), Bay City,Texas; One grandchild, Jaleah McKently of Palm Beach, Florida. Brothers and Sisters in Law, Robert (Paula) Harden, Sr., Elder Pernell (Luvinia) Harden, Catherine Mathews, Geneva (John) Montgomery, Kenneth Harden, Gene Allen Harden, Gregory Harden, Bernard (Pamela) Harden, Bridgett Harden, Tara Howard, and Cheryl A. Barnes, a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
